I can’t believe that 11 years have passed since I first started EAR CANDY MAG! Back in 1999 I never would have imagined that it would be around this long. But It has been a fun ride and I’ve met a lot of cool folks. Being a rock fan from my early teens, it has been a dream come true to actually talk to some of my heroes over the years. I’ve learned the art of dealing with publicists. I’ve made lasting friendships. And yes, I have met some real assholes over the years (including some of the artists that I’ve interviewed, ha ha!) and had some folks out-and-out lie to me – but I guess that’s all part of the experience.

The main thing I’ve learned is that you can turn a passion for music into something. I started out as just a music fan who learned html code and started an online magazine. You don’t have to be a professional journalist to write about music – I mean, look at all the professionals that do…and always seem to get it wrong. But you do have to be able to articulate your feelings into words.

Anyway, the past few weeks I’ve been doing a little housecleaning at EAR CANDY, since we seem to be running out of room on our site. So, I’ve decided to delete a few of the old articles from the main site – BUT, they still will be available on our old tripod site: earcandy_mag.tripod.com
